Match Analysis

It is very lucky for the Bengaluru Bulls that their skipper, Rohit Kumar, has come into his best form just as Pawan Kumar Sehrawat seemed to be slowing up a little. Rohit Kumar has 47 raid points in his last five matches and he has gone from being the backup raider to being the lead raider in this span of time.

Rohit Kumar plays a very different kind of game than Pawan Kumar Sehrawat and that is something that is unsettling for the opposition. While Rohit Kumar stays close to the center line and goads the defenders into making a mistake, Pawan Kumar Sehrawat goes deep into the opposite end of the mat to try and take out as many defenders as possible every time.

Sehrawat is the leading raid point scorer in the PKL this season. He already has one Super-10 against the Bengal Warriors and would want to add another one in this match.

The Bengal Warriors would be quietly confident of winning this match. They seem to have overcome a slight bump in their campaign and are back to winning ways. Maninder Singh led his side to a win the last time around and he is going to be the player to watch out for this time as well.

He has over 100 raid points in the PKL this season, has 58 raid points more than the next best raider on the Bengal Warriors, and scored an impressive 14 raid points against the Bengaluru Bulls in their last encounter.

If he can keep Rohit Kumar and Pawan Kumar Sehrawat off the mat for a long duration of time then the Bengal Warriors have a good chance of winning.

Of course, for that to happen, Baldev Singh from the Bengal Warriors will have to play a leading role in the defense. He is going to be up against the best raiding unit in the PKL but his success against the side in the last match will give him confidence.

Key stat

The head to head between the Bengaluru Bulls and the Bengal Warriors is pretty close. There have been 12 matches played between the two sides and the Bengaluru Bulls hold a slim advantage 7-5. Crucially, though, the most recent match between the two sides was won by the Bengal Warriors.

Verdict

The Bengaluru Bulls committed some really silly defensive mistakes against the Bengal Warriors the last time around. They should learn from that encounter and come better prepared this time around. The Bengal Warriors, though, are better rested and have hit form at the right time.

We think it will be a close contest but the Bengal Warriors should be able to pull off another upset.

Back the Bengal Warriors to win.
