The Gujarat Fortunegiants were back to their best against U.P. Yoddha after their defeat in Qualifier 1. The raiders, led by Sachin and Prapanjan, were very good while Parvesh Bhainswal came into his own during the second half and ensured that the Fortunegiants were never in danger of losing that match.
The players will have to learn from their mistakes against the Bengaluru Bulls in Qualifier 1 and hope to execute their plans better this time around. For one thing, we don’t think the Gujarat Fortunegiants will try to be very aggressive when it comes to taking down the Bengaluru Bulls raiders.
Parvesh Bhainswal, Sunil Kumar, and the rest of the defense are at their best when they play technical Kabaddi and allow the raiders to make the mistakes. As a defensive unit, they have brilliant movement and draw the raiders in before making the tackles.
On the offensive side, this Grand Final is the perfect opportunity for Sachin to cap a brilliant Pro Kabaddi League season. He has been one of the best raiders in the entire league and can win his team the title with another strong showing.
He was very good against an excellent U.P.Yoddha defense in the previous match. That performance should give him confidence against a side that is not the most sound when it comes to defense. Some valuable support by Prapanjan is also going to help keep the pressure on the Bengaluru Bulls.
The Bengaluru Bulls won Qualifier 1 and have been awaiting their opponent in the final for a few days now. They will be well rested and raring to go. For the Bengaluru Bulls, the equation is very simple. They must put in the same kind of performance that they did in the last match against the Gujarat Fortunegiants.
In that match, their raiders led by Pawan Kumar Sehrawat were able to break down a strong Gujarat Fortunegiants defense. Doing so again is going to be a difficult task because the Gujarat Fortunegiants are going to come prepared.
The biggest advantage that the Bengaluru Bulls have is their relentless attack. When in form, their three raiders do not offer any respite to the opposition. Pawan Kumar Sehrawat, Rohit Kumar, and Kashiling Adake are all exceptional players that bring different styles of attack to the mat.
Pawan Kumar Sehrawat is not afraid of going deep and trying to bag multiple points while Rohit Kumar plays pretty high and entices the defenders to come to him. Kashiling Adake is quite aggressive in his approach and looks for touch points rather than bonus points, as a raider always should.
The limiting factor for the Bengaluru Bulls is going to be their defense. There have been many instances in this season of the Pro Kabaddi League where the Bengaluru Bulls have disintegrated in the face of some good attack. They find it particularly hard to come back if they fall behind early.
Both sides finished the top of their respective Zones but no side won as many matches or lost as few as the Gujarat Fortunegiants. There have been three matches played between the Gujarat Fortunegiants and the Bengaluru Bulls in Pro Kabaddi history. Both sides have won one match each while the remaining match ended in a tie.
We think the Gujarat Fortunegiants are a better-rounded side and they have proved that consistently over the course of Pro Kabaddi 6. They have an outstanding defense and one of the best raiders to lead their charge.
We think the Gujarat Fortunegiants are going to win the title this year.
Back the Gujarat Fortunegiants to win.
