The Bengal Warriors began their season against the Tamil Thalaivas, and while we mean no disrespect to the Tamil Thalaiavas, they are not a team that many in this league would fear. It would have been encouraging for the Bengal Warriors to see all of their big players come to the party.
Maninder Singh set the mat alight as he scored nine raid points on his own. The form of Mahesh Goud, Jang Kun Lee, and Rakesh Narwal was also very encouraging for the Bengal Warriors. The raiding unit of the Bengal Warriors, though, may find the going a lot tougher against a solid Telugu Titans defensive lineup.
Things were pretty smooth for the Bengal Warriors while defending as well. PO Surjeet Singh, Ran Singh, and Shrikanth Tewatia all played their roles to perfection. In fact, Surjeet Singh’s leadership on the mat was very good as he marshaled his troops to perfection. A stiffer test awaits the Warriors but it is clear they have come prepared this season as well.
The Telugu Titans could be looking at their best start in Pro Kabaddi ever if they continue this form. The Titans have started strongly and resisted the urge to make too many changes. Rahul Chaudhary has scored 9 raid points in both of the Titans previous matches and has been the chief attacking force for his side.
There is no doubt that he will attract some extra attention from the Bengal Warriors defense but we think he has the class to overcome them all. Maybe someone like Nilesh Salunke could take this opportunity to step his game and take some of the pressure off of Chaudhary.
While the Telugu Titans offense is impressive, their defense is just phenomenal. They have Vishal Bhardwaj, their skipper, and Abozar Mohajermighani manning the corners while Milgharden and Maghsoudlou provide the power in the center.
There is speed, brute force, and strategy all in an extremely compelling unit. How the Bengal Warriors offense manages to hold up against the Telugu Titans defense is going to be the key to this game’s outcome.
There have been 11 games played between these two sides in the past. The current head to head stands 5-3 in favor of the Bengal Warriors with three ties as well. This indicates that these two teams have been pretty close historically.
The fact that both these sides are seeing a rise in fortunes in the recent seasons should make this contest interesting as well.
The Telugu Titans have a defense which will be difficult for the Bengal Warriors to overcome. We think that the Titans are likely to win their third straight game of the season.
