Match Analysis

The Bengal Warriors have made it to the Super Playoffs and can afford to take things a little easy. They would want to make sure their lead players are getting adequate risk and free of injury but they would not want to start losing matches either.

Momentum and keeping the winning habit going can be a very important factor for the sides in the Pro Kabaddi league. The Bengal Warriors lost its last game to Dabang Delhi K.C. in a contest that went down to the absolute wire.

It was indicative of the fact that the Bengal Warriors are not taking things lightly and will continue looking for wins.

Maninder Singh has been the talisman for the Bengal Warriors with his offensive capabilities while Rann Singh and PO Surjeet Singh have led the Bengal Warriors defense admirably. In this match, we think that Rang Singh and PO Surjeet Singh will have a bigger role to play than Maninder Singh.

The Telugu Titans will have no option but to come hard at the Bengal Warriors and this is where the defense can make the most of any mistakes made. We believe that Ran Singh and PO Surjeet Singh have enough talent and experience at their disposal to make life very difficult for the Telugu Titans.

The Telugu Titans find themselves in a position where attack is the only option. This is somewhat ironic for a team that has built its entire Pro Kabaddi League campaign around defense. The Telugu Titans have Vishal Bhardwaj and Abozar Mohajermighani as two outstanding corner defensive players to try and strangle the opponents.

Rahul Chaudhari, in the meantime, is the star raider that the side looks to for most of its points. This seems like a pretty good setup but things have not quite panned out that way.

Abozar Mohajermighani’s form has been very up and down over the last few weeks while Rahul Chaudhari is not the player he once was. Maybe being told to go out and play with extreme aggression could help unlock something that has been missing this entire season.

As things stand, the odds are against the Telugu Titans. They need to have a perfect game in every sense to come out of this with the result they need. If they fall back a little bit as well then we could see the Telugu Titans crumble under pressure.

Key stat

The Bengal Warriors enjoy a 7-3 advantage over the Telugu Titans in historical head to head matches between the two sides. The Bengal Warriors are also in much better recent form having lost just one out of its last four matches as compared to the Telugu Titans who have lost three out of their last four.

Verdict

The Bengal Warriors have the advantage of being able to take their time in this game and waiting or the Telugu Titans to make a mistake. The margin of victory required for the Telugu Titans makes it very difficult to carry out proceedings without making big errors. If the Telugu Titans do fall back then we are afraid they are not going to be able to fight back.

Back the Bengal Warriors to win.
