The Bengal Warriors played one of the most exciting matches this season against U.P Yoddha in the last match. Not many people would have given U.P Yoddha a chance after losing three matches on the trot but they started the match against the Warriors well and had them almost down and out.
The Bengal Warriors, though staged a brilliant comeback from being 30-23 down to eventually manage a tie at 40-40. Their run of wins is over but the fact that they managed to come back from a difficult position and managed to avoid a draw is hugely creditable.
The stars for the Bengal Warriors were once again Maninder Singh on the offensive side and PO Surjeet Singh on the defensive side of the mat. Jan Kun Lee is another raider that will be looked towards to provide support to Maninder Singh while Shrikanth Tewthia and Ran Singh are the all-rounders to provide this side its incredible balance.
Dabang Delhi K.C. may have lost its last match to the Haryana Steelers in Sonepat but it did its reputation no harm. Delhi was facing a superior squad that seemed to be buoyed on by home support but it did not stop fighting till the very end.
A 3 point margin of defeat is not something that should be disappointed about.
Dabang Delhi K.C. will have to put up a similar and maybe even better performance against the Bengal Warriors, though. They will need Chandran Ranjit to continue adding to his 23 raid points from three games and lead the attack for Delhi.
The real challenge, though, will be the defense to find a way to shut down Maninder Singh, Ran Singh, and Jan Kun Lee. Delhi skipper Joginder Narwal leads the defense and has the experienced Vishal Mane and Ravinder Pahal for support.
Delhi’s defense has been good enough to shut down its opponents so far but Haryana showed that Delhi can be made to crack under sustained pressure.
The head to head between the two sides is relatively close. There have been 9 matches played between the Bengal Warriors and Dabang Delhi K.C., out of which the Bengal Warriors have won 5 and tied one. That means that Delhi has won three such encounters.
The Bengal Warriors has been the team of the competition so far. It has shown a great adherence to the fundamentals while innovating on the mat according to its opponents as well. Their ability to fight back from difficult positions is legendary too.
Back the Bengal Warriors to win.
