Dabang Delhi K.C. was expected to be a contender this season of the PKL but not many people would have expected it to make the Super Playoffs. The surge in performance from Meraj Sheykh in the last few weeks has helped the side become one of the most potent scorers in the Pro Kabaddi League.
Meraj Sheykh has 47 points in his last five appearances and will be looking to finally overcome his Iranian teammate, Fazel Atrachali, who leads U Mumba.
Sheykh will be helped by two very talented raiders in Chandran Ranjit and Naveen Kumar. The last few matches have been a bit silent for Naveen Kumar but we strongly believe that is he will come into his own once again as the PKL reaches its conclusion.
On the defensive side, Ravinder Pahal and Vishal Mane are the two stalwarts of Dabang Delhi K.C. They have been very good at testing the technique of the opposing raiders and pouncing on every small mistake. The pair does not have a very good record against Siddharth Desai and this could be an opportunity to correct that.
With 10 wins and a tie from 19 matches, Dabang Delhi K.C. is in the midst of its best ever PKL season. Now, they must keep the momentum going to be able to finish really strong.
U Mumba has 14 wins and a tie from 18 matches heading into this match. That is an awesome record and shows the dominance with which they have conducted their Pro Kabaddi 6 campaign. There is no question in our mind that in Siddharth Desai we are seeing the birth of a Kabaddi legend.
He has taken the PKL by storm in his rookie season and already has 188 raid points to his name. Considering the carnage he has wrought on Dabang Delhi K.C. the last two times these teams have met don’t count out him reaching 200 raid points in this match.
Siddharth Desai made Ravinder Pahal look silly in the last match and will be very confident of doing the same again. The best raider in the league also has the best defender of the PKL to back him up.
There is no one in the Pro Kabaddi League that has more tackle points than Fazel Atrachali. He has reached 71 points for the season and orchestrates the U Mumba defense with amazing precision. Fazel will know that Dabang Delhi K.C. has three in-form raiders that will test his side’s defense to the max.
This will be the third occasion this season on which Dabang Delhi K.C. and U Mumba will play each other. The previous two have resulted in wins for U Mumba although Dabang Delhi K.C. did come close to winning the last time around.
Both teams have won their last four matches and are in excellent form. U Mumba has the superior players at its disposal as can be seen by its consistent performers all season. Dabang Delhi K.C. has the raiders to be able to put U Mumba’s defense under pressure and possibly get a win.
