The Gujarat Fortunegiants put in an absolutely brilliant performance in the last match to maintain its winning run against U Mumba. It was a game that they were trailing for a large part before a very strong half saw them take the decisive lead.
That win was the 9th win for the Gujarat Fortunegiants in just 13 matches. It also was a return to form after a somewhat shock defeat against Dabang Delhi K.C. The Fortunegiants now have three wins, one tie, and one loss in its last five matches.
The stars of the Gujarat Fortunegiants have been Sachin, Sunil Kumar, and Parvesh Bhainswal. The manner in which Parvesh Bhainswal and Sunil Kumar managed to contain the brilliant U Mumba defense was a treat to watch.
Sachin also did well in the last match but for once was outdone by Prapanjan in the scoring charts. If Sachin and Prapanjan can find the physical reserves to put in another strong performance then they could find the Haryana Steelers defense a lot easier to get past.
The battle between Sunil Kumar and Vikash Kahndola from the Haryana Steelers is going to be one to watch out for in this contest.
The Haryana Steelers have just managed to win 4 games from 13 matches so far. With one tie and 8 defeats as the other results, the Steelers cannot be happy at the manner in which this season fo the PKL has unfolded for them.
Vikash Khandola has been one of the few bright spots for them in Pro Kabaddi 6, though. He has scored 110 points in the PKL this season and has 5 Super 10’s to his name as well. He was instrumental in getting the Haryana Steelers the win against U Mumba and the tie against the Tamil Thalaivas as well.
There is no doubt he is going to be the biggest threat to a very strong Gujarat Fortunegiants defense in this match.
As far as the Haryana Steelers go, Kuldeep Singh has been the standout defender for them in the last five matches. Kuldeep has to lead the way and hopefully combine with Sunil to pose a significant threat to the Gujarat Fortunegiants raiders.
The pair of them is going to have to be at their best to try and stop Sachin, Prapanjan, and the others from running riot.
The Gujarat Fortunegiants have never beaten the Haryana Steelers in Pro Kabaddi History. Their head to head stands at 4-0 in favor of the Haryana Steelers. A victory against the Gujarat Fortunegiants in this PKL as well puts the Steelers in a good frame of mind going into this contest.
It is easy to see the table and conclude that the Gujarat Fortunegiants have been a better side than the Haryana Steelers this season. The home side is better defensively, has excellent raiders, and makes the more use of home advantage than any other side.
The Haryana Steelers, though, have an excellent track record against the Gujarat Fortunegiants and are in decent recent form.
It should be a close match but one where the home side prevails.
