Match Analysis
The Gujarat Giants have cleaned house and approach this season with a set of completely new players. Chandran Ranjit, Dabang Delhi KC's star of previous seasons, has shifted base and will play for Gujarat Giants. This is a good move especially because Chandran Ranjit showed he can be the lead raider last season in Naveen Kumar's absence. He is also very good in the dying moments when the pressure is on. He will have support from Mahendra Rajput and Dong Geon Lee, both excellent raiders in their own right.
The famed Gujarat Giants defense has been broken up and it will now need to refocus under Rinku Narwal's leadership. This is an area that Gujarat Giants could struggle with initially.
The Tamil Thalaivas have managed to acquire Pawan Kumar Sehrawat from the Bengaluru Bulls and that one move alone makes them a contender this season! The most influential raider in the PKL for quite some time now, Pawan Kumar Sehrawat is used to carrying a franchise on his back. He will ensure that the Thalaivas are competitive although he will need help to get consistent wins. That is where Himanshu Singh and Ajinkya Pawar will come in.
Sagar was brilliant in defense during the previous season and will be key to the Tamil Thaliavas's fortunes this time around as well.
