Match Analysis

The Haryana Steelers will have seen that Dabang Delhi K.C. has started racking up wins at a crucial point and is pulling away from the Steelers. This why nothing but a win will do in this match otherwise the Haryana Steelers risk being left too far behind.

The Steelers have to put their hopes in the form of Vikash Khandola and Monu Goyat to get the necessary points for victory. Vikash Khandola has more than a 100 raid points this season and has overtaken Monu Goyat as the predominant raider of the side.

His ability to get raid points consistently and under pressure makes him invaluable. In fact, if he was getting some better support from Monu Goyat and the other raiders, the Haryana Steelers would be in a much better position.

As things stand, the Steelers must back these two players in this important PKL encounter. Scoring points is just one half of the battle, though, and stopping Maninder Singh is going to be the other half. Kuldeep Singh, who has been the best defensive player for the Haryana Steelers this season, will be tasked with rallying the defensive unit of the Steelers.

He is going to have a tough time stopping a rampant Maninder Singh but he certainly has the talent to put up a good fight.

Speaking of the Bengal Warriors, Maninder Singh is roaring into top-form at just the right time for the Bengal Warriors. He has scored 188 raid points this season and has plenty of matches in the bank to try and move up that leaderboard.

Maninder Singh scored a career-high 17 raid points in his last match against the Bengaluru Bulls and helped his side dish out successive defeats to one of the best teams of the PKL. A high-quality raider can carry the entire side on his back and Maninder Singh is doing exactly that right now.

The experienced PO Surjeet Singh and Ran Singh are going to be leading the defense for the Bengal Warriors. They will be wary of the threat posed by the Haryana Steelers but be confident of their abilities. Their ability to stick to their plans and not commit mistakes in the heat of the moment is a big asset.

Key stat

The Bengal Warriors and the Haryana Steelers have just played each other once in the PKL. That match ended up being won by the Bengal Warriors as Maninder Singh put in a dominant performance.

Verdict

The Bengal Warriors is the side to back in this contest for sure. Maninder Singh is in red-hot form and is one of the best raiders of the Pro Kabaddi League. Vikash Khandola and Monu Goyat are good players but they are not in the same league as Maninder Singh. Unless the Bengal Warriors offense has a really bad day or the Haryana Steelers has a really good day, we don’t think an upset is likely.

Back the Bengal Warriors to win.
