The Haryana Steelers are quickly finding their place to be at the bottom of the league as they continue to lose matches. It is going to take something special to be able to reverse this trend and we think it has to come from the Steelers leadership.
Monu Goyat, the captain, and extremely talented raider has to do something to special to lift his team from this slump. He has not performed as a player of his caliber should and that has to change now. They have some extremely talented players in this side like Vikash Khandola to assist in the raiding duties, Naveen who scored 17 points in the last game against the Jaipur Pink Panthers, and Kuldeep Singh as one of the most versatile all-rounders we have seen in this league.
Unfortunately for the Steelers, though, this combination of talented men has not resulted in the formation of a successful team so far. They are going to have their work cut out against U Mumba and maybe the only way forward for them here is to attack.
U Mumba has been stunning this season and will be working hard to keep its unbeaten run going for as long as possible. The brilliant come from behind victory against the Puneri Paltan was something that we may not see the likes in this year’s competition! U Mumba dominated the Haryana Steelers the last time around and there is little to suggest they cannot do the same thing again.
For one thing, there are a number of in-form players that can step for U Mumba beginning with their captain. Fazal Atrachali defends the left corner for his side and is instrumental in getting the defense working soundly. His tactics seem to be working too. U Mumba has 34 tackle points already, is third on the list of average tackle points with 11.33 to its name, and is able to put a stranglehold on the best opposition player with remarkable ease.
Of course, raiders such as Abhishek Singh, Rohit Baliyan, and Siddharth Desai are going to play a very important role in this game as well. U Mumba will have to work hard to get past the Haryana Steelers defense and then be able to resist their attacks as well.
U Mumba has dominated the previous encounters between the two sides 3-1. With the recent memory of the thrashing dished out to the Haryana Steelers also fresh in their minds, we cannot help but feel that U Mumba is going to be full of confidence.
Return encounters, though, tend to be a lot tougher in Pro Kabaddi.
Is U Mumba primed for a take-down? Can they have finally run out of gas or the ability to manufacture brilliant comebacks? We don’t think so. U Mumba has shown the energy, discipline, and energy that has been lacking in the Haryana Steelers so far.
