The Jaipur Pink Panthers really did leave their all on the mat last night and it was very good to see the side put in such a strong display despite not having too much to play for. We also like their performance because it was one of their very few performances this season not on the back of a performance from Deepak Niwas Hooda.
The star raider for the Jaipur Pink Panthers was kept quiet by the superb Gujarat Fortunegiants defense and that allows Ajinkya Pawar to take center stage. Ajinkya narrowly missed his Super-10 ending with 9 points on the night.
His good form will give the Jaipur Pink Panthers a lot of confidence that they can fend off the challenge from Dabang Delhi K.C.
Sandeep Dhull also managed 6 tackle points, the most for any raider in the match, and showed just why he can be such a force to be reckoned with. The Jaipur Pink Panthers love playing at home and have had a run of tough fixtures which would have drained them physically.
Now, playing their last match against a well rested and in-form Dabang Delhi K.C., they will have to dip into every last reserve to put up their best performance on the mat.
Dabang Delhi K.C. has nothing to lose in this match and nothing to gain as well. They can afford to rotate their players, try some different strategies, and build some momentum for the upcoming knockouts.
Their three raiders, Naveen Kumar, Meraj Sheykh, and Chandran Ranjit have been in very good form leading them to their first Super Playoff berth. Meraj Sheykh has really struck good form and has overtaken Naveen Kumar as the side’s lead raider over the last five matches.
We have no doubt that Naveen Kumar would want to reclaim his position in the side with some strong performances. Chandran Ranjit is also one of the best backup raiders in the league. With these three in the starting lineup, there is always a good attacking option for Dabang Delhi K.C. to exploit.
The defense will be led by Joginder Narwal and Ravinder Pahal. The pair has been pretty good at stopping the opposition raiders, particularly when playing from the front.
Two losses in their last three games would have deflated the Jaipur Pink Panthers particularly as they come to the end of a grueling home leg. Dabang Delhi K.C., on the other hand, is going to come into this contest with an excellent run of form and be well rested too.
The Jaipur Pink Panthers have been in good form this season and looked like a different side at home. We don’t think, however, they have the reserves to be able to play at such a high pace every single night.
Dabang Delhi K.C. will be relaxed and full of confidence. They also know that the Pink Panthers are ripe for the taking.
