The match against Dabang Delhi K.C. is not going to be easy either. The Delhi side has managed to play a high level of Kabaddi in Pro Kabaddi 6 and will test the Pirates.
With Pardeep Narwal leading the offense and players like Deepak Narwal, Vikas Jaglan, and Jawahar Dagar for support, the Patna Pirates have an impressive offense.
Their own defense is going to be manned by Ravinder Kumar, Kuldeep Singh, and Jaideep. The Patna Pirates have built their squad and strategy around attack. This is why they either win big when the raiders are in form or lose heavily because their own defense is not of the highest quality.
Dabang Delhi K.C. is in the middle of a good run. They have won their last two matches and are starting to regain some of the form that they showed early in the tournament. Delhi won 40-29 against the Jaipur Pink Panthers in the last game led by the performances of its raiding trio.
Chandran Ranjit, Naveen Kumar, and Meraj Sheykh all put in superb performances to wipe the mat clean with the Pink Panther defenders. These three will be key to Dabang Delhi’s success in this match as well.
The Patna Pirates are going to hard at Dabang Delhi but their own defense is a little vulnerable. This is something that the three raiders from Delhi can take advantage of.
Perhaps the most encouraging thing for Delhi ahead of this match will be the fact its captain, Joginder Singh Narwal scored his first High-5 of the tournament and led the defense brilliantly.
If he can repeat his performance from the last game against the Patna Pirates then Delhi has a very good chance of registering a win.
The Patna Pirates are one of the best offensive sides in the league. This is shown by the fact that they have scored an average of 23 raid points per match in the PKL this season. That is the second best in the league. Dabang Delhi K.C. is not too far behind with 21.33 points per game either.
Interestingly, both the sides competing in this competition hold the bottom two positions when it comes to average tackle points per match.
The form of both sides and the strategies they have employed suggest that we are in for a point scoring fest. Both the sides have a nice selection of raiders that can rotate and allow the team to keep pressing for points.
Neither side has a great defense although the form of Joginder Singh Narwal could prove to be the difference.
