It took a very special effort from the Patna Pirates to win their last match against U.P Yoddha. Led by skipper and leader of raiding unit, Pradeep Narwal, the Patna Pirates will have no choice but to be as aggressive as they were in the last game.
Narwal recorded a super-10, his second in as many matches, and will be the key for his side again. With 23 successful raids in just two games, there is no question that Pardeep Narwal is going to be a force to be reckoned with.
The Patna Pirates have 47 raid points to their name, compared to 61 for U.P Yoddha but have played one match lesser. The Patna Pirates have also inflicted three all-outs to the opposition but conceded five all-outs as well.
The reading from the stats is very clear. Pradeep narwal, Deepak Narwal, and Manjeet will be the chief points scorers for their side as the Pirates bank on their raiders to repeat the victory against U.P Yoddha.
On the defensive side, Jawahar Dagar, Jaideep, Vikas Kale, Kuldeep Singh, and Ravinder Kumar all have put in impressive performances in previous matches. The players will be confident in knowing that they have stopped U.P’s raiding unit in the last match and can definitely do it again.
U.P Yoddha started the tournament with an impressive win but two tough losses have derailed its campaign somewhat. The team is currently third in terms of total points scored, fourth in terms of do-or-die raid points, and third in terms of total raid points scored.
The side has also inflicted four all-outs and suffered the same number.
U.P Yoddha is a young side but was able to distinguish itself against the defending champions the last time these two teams met. We think they would have learned from their mistakes and will come at the Patna Pirates with more nuanced plans.
The onus of scoring runs will go on captain Rishank Devadiga, Prashanth Kumar Rai, and Shrikanth Yadav. All three raiders have been superb for their side up until now while the defensive duties have fallen on the shoulders of Nitesh Kumar and Sagar Krishna in a large part.
Both sides have a lot of work to do in getting their defense right. With attacking and in-form raiders on both teams to press the defense to the limit, expect some errors, a lot of raid points, and an exciting match that goes down to the wire once again.
The head to head between the two sides is pretty evenly matches. After four encounters, the Patna Pirates have won two, U.P Yoddha one, and one match has been tied.
We think the two sides are going to be streteched to the limit because both of them play a very similar kind of game. We are backing U.P Yoddha to be able to turn the tables this time around though.
Back U.P Yoddha to win.
