The current leaders of Group A on points difference, Puneri Paltan has had a really good start to this year’s campaign. The side has 66 points to its name from just two matches and is second on the list of do or die raid points scored (9) already. Puneri Paltan has also inflicted two all-outs but suffered five in just two matches as well.
These stats paint a clear picture of a side that has a strong raiding department but is still trying to get its defense working correctly. Nitin Tomar has been the lead scorer for Puneri Paltan so far with 22 raid points to his name. He has combined very efficiently with More GB, Deepak Kumar Dahiya, and Rajesh Mondal to form a strong raiding unit.
Puneri Paltan is currently led by Girish Ernak, the left corner defender, and it will be his chief concern to get the Pune defense in order. Shubham Shinde, Ravi Kumar, Sandeep Narwal, and Sanjay Shrestha will all be very crucial to keeping the Dabang Delhi raiders in check for this contest.
We don’t think the Puneri Paltan is going to fall behind in scoring raids against Delhi but if there own defense does not hold up then Delhi will be able to utilize the numbers advantage to get the best of them.
Dabang Delhi K.C. has put the entire league on notice with a strong showing against the Gujarat Fortunegiants. The side can thank Chandran Ranjit for keeping them in the contest with 10 points in the last match. Listed as a raider, Chandran even scored a tackle in the last match to play the role of an all-rounder.
Delhi showed that it has built up a good defensive unit this season and could test the Puneri Paltan raiders. Skipper Joginder Narwal and Ravinder Pahal managed three tackle points each to be the standout players but there were a number of other contributors as well.
Vishal Mane, who provides cover on the right corner, is another player that we expect to hear more of as the season goes on. Dabang Delhi K.C. also has a number of good all-rounders such as Meraj Sheykh, Rajesh Narwal, and Tapas Pal to call upon when needed.
Historically, Delhi has struggled to put up a good unit in Pro Kabaddi but this season has started very promisingly.
There have been 11 encounters between the two sides in the past and they have been dominated by Puneri Paltan. 7 wins and 1 tie means that Delhi has been able to get the better of Pune on just three occasions.
Pune also comes into this contest with a good start and key players in excellent form.
It is tempting to back Dabang Delhi F.C in this contest because of the odds being offered but we would still recommend backing Puneri Paltan to win out in the end. They are a better-rounded side than Delhi and could rip apart their defense quite easily.
