The Telugu Titans have struggled in this edition of the PKL and there is no doubt in our mind that some major structural changes will be seen in the side over the coming season. For now, though, there is nothing to do but to fully embrace the path that they have gone down on.
The Telugu Titans need to find a way to keep the trio of raiders on the Bengaluru Bulls quiet while exerting its own pressure at the same time. This brings to the fore once again a struggling superstar, Rahul Chaudhari.
It may seem harsh to call put a raider that has scored over 100 raid points this season but those are the standards that Rahul Chaudhari has set in the past. He has not been able to deliver for the Telugu Titans in the crunch situations although it can be argued that they reached there in the first place because of him.
Take Rahul Chaudhari out of the side and we struggle to see where the points will come from. This is why he has no option but to put in his absolute best and lead the Telugu Titans to victory.
If Chaudhari can find a way past the fallible Bengaluru Bulls defense then ABozar Mohjermighani and Vishal Bhardwaj could find themselves in the thick of things. Constantly rated as two of the bets corner defensive players in the Pro Kabaddi League, Abozar and Vishal must rise to the occasion and stop the Bengaluru Bulls from scoring freely.
That is easier said than done, though. Pawan Kumar Sehrawat, Kashiling Adake, and Rohit Kumar have been brilliant this season. While Sehrawat did the bulk of the damage early on, it was Rohit who took the lead during Bengaluru’s home leg.
Now, with the real business end of the Pro Kabaddi League approaching, we think it must be Pawan Kumar Sehrawat to establish himself as the lead raider of the side and get back to his free-scoring ways.
Kashling Adake is probably good enough to be the lead raider for a number of sides and that his position as back up raider makes the Bulls very dangerous on the mat. The only thing that can sometimes bring them down are mistakes on the defensive side.
The Bengaluru Bulls have lost their last two matches and cannot afford to run out of steam at this crucial juncture in the PKL. With two wins out of the four matches in their home leg, the Telugu Titans are showing signs of revival but the physical toll of playing back to back matches will add up.
The matchup of the Bengaluru Bulls raiders versus the Telugu Titans defense is going to be very intriguing. It is a contest where we think that the Telugu Titans may be able to come out on top if they start well.
The recent form of the Bengaluru Bulls has been questionable as well.
