It is difficult to find a weakness in this U Mumba side. It has in its squad the best raider of the Pro Kabaddi League, the best defender, and a side that has backups for most of its crucial positions. This makes it a difficult opponent to any kind of side and that is also why U Mumba would be desperate to correct its record against the Gujarat Fortunegiants.
U Mumba has never beaten the Gujarat Fortunegiants in the history of the PKL and that includes two defeats to them this season. It is inconceivable to imagine a side like U Mumba being kept down so consistently by any other opponent.
Siddharth Desai scored 19 points in his last match against Dabang Delhi and fortified his position as the lead raider of the Pro Kabaddi League. He is averaging more than Super-10 per game and has been unstoppable.
On the defensive side, Surender Singh and Fazel Atrachali have led the way with providing a solid challenge to all opposing raiders. Fazel Atrachali has more tackle points than anyone else in the tournament but it is Surender Singh that has been more successful in the last few matches.
The Gujarat Fortunegiants are a very difficult team to stop, in a large part, because they are very similar to U Mumba. They also have a star raider in Sachin who is tearing up the league and setting the bar high.
The defense is led by Parvesh Bhainswal who performs a job very similar to Fazel Atrachali. One of the strategies that the Gujarat Fortunegiants have adopted successfully against U Mumba in the past has been to keep Atrachalai off the mat for as long as possible. By neutralizing his defensive prowess, Sachin and the other raiders are given more of an opportunity wreak havoc on U Mumba.
The Gujarat Fortunegiants are unbeaten against U Mumba in PKL history. That is an awesome record to boast of. Both teams are in good current form as well.
The contest between U Mumba and the Gujarat Fortunegiants could come down to a showdown between Sachin and Siddharth Desai. It is going to be a brave man that bets against Siddharth Desai after the brutal beating he handed out to Dabang Delhi K.C in his last match.
